How BrowseKind works

BrowseKind loads supported social-service websites in Apple WKWebView on iPhone or Android System WebView on Android and applies local focus and visibility rules to their page structure. BrowseKind is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by those services.

Website data stored on your device

Web addresses, page structure, and information you enter are processed transiently on the device so Apple WebKit or Android System WebView can display and operate the website. The platform web engine persistently stores cookies, cache, local storage, session storage, and IndexedDB separately for each supported service so you can remain signed in.

The developer does not collect or transmit your usernames, passwords, messages, posts, contacts, browsing history, cookies, or page content. You can clear one service or all website data from BrowseKind Settings.

Third-party social services

Website requests, sign-in details, cookies, and content are sent directly to the service you choose and are governed by that service's terms and privacy policy. BrowseKind cannot control a service's data practices, account decisions, or website availability.

Local BrowseKind data

Pinned services, focus filters, the selected tab, profiles, schedules, and local usage minutes are stored in the app's private storage. If you enable Screen Time, Apple provides opaque tokens for the apps you select; those tokens and your allowed-hours schedule are stored only in the local App Group shared with BrowseKind's Device Activity Monitor extension. BrowseKind cannot identify the selected apps and does not upload Screen Time or usage data. Local data remains until you reset BrowseKind settings or uninstall the app. BrowseKind does not sync social cookies or content.

Optional activation analytics on iPhone

Activation analytics are off by default and are sent only after you enable the optional setting. With consent, BrowseKind sends RevenueCat coarse milestones such as the app version, first open after consent, onboarding completion, free-focus activation, value-proof display, first paywall display and its general in-app source, purchase intent, and browser readiness, together with timestamps.

These milestones never include the selected social network, URLs, browsing history, page content, accounts, messages, Screen Time choices, advertising identifiers, or device identifiers. They are attached only to RevenueCat's random anonymous App User ID and are used to understand and improve activation. The legal basis is consent.

You can disable activation analytics at any time in BrowseKind Settings. This stops future collection and asks RevenueCat to delete BrowseKind's stored activation attributes. Purchase and entitlement data needed to provide BrowseKind Plus remains governed by the subscription section below.

BrowseKind for Android

BrowseKind for Android uses Android System WebView to display YouTube, Instagram, and X. Logins, cookies, private messages, and page content are processed on the device by WebView and the selected service. They are not sent to a BrowseKind server. BrowseKind includes no advertising SDK and does not require a BrowseKind account. Starting with Android 1.0.6, RevenueCat handles subscriptions and the subscription screen as described below.

Filter choices, quiet hours, weekly usage minutes, and app settings remain in local app storage. Google Play processes payments; RevenueCat validates purchase tokens and subscription status to unlock, restore, and manage BrowseKind Plus.

The optional App Shield feature uses Android Accessibility only to detect when the exact YouTube, Instagram, or X package becomes the foreground app and to open the corresponding BrowseKind session. Screen-content retrieval is disabled. BrowseKind does not read or store screen content, taps, typed text, passwords, messages, or notifications, and sends no Accessibility data to a server. App Shield is off by default and can be revoked at any time in Android settings.

BrowseKind does not proxy traffic, install a VPN, or block, skip, alter, or bypass YouTube video advertising, paywalls, DRM, subscriptions, or paid features. Social services receive their own web traffic under their respective terms and privacy policies.

Users can clear website data and BrowseKind settings in the app, or remove all local data by uninstalling BrowseKind or clearing its Android app storage.

Subscriptions, RevenueCat, and Google Play Billing

Apple or Google Play processes payment and billing, depending on the purchase platform. RevenueCat processes a random anonymous App User ID, purchase tokens and transaction history, app and device metadata (including operating system and app version), product identifiers, entitlement status, and renewal or expiration information to validate, unlock, restore, and measure BrowseKind Plus subscriptions.

RevenueCat is used for purchases on iPhone and, starting with version 1.0.6, Android. Starting with iOS 1.0.4 and Android 1.0.6, RevenueCat Paywalls also processes subscription-screen displays and interactions to operate and measure that screen. These events use the anonymous customer identifier and are separate from the optional iPhone activation analytics. BrowseKind does not send RevenueCat your email address, advertising identifier, browsing history, page content, or social-service account information.

Purchase processing supports the subscription contract, fraud prevention, support, and applicable accounting obligations. Subscription-screen interaction data is used to operate and improve that screen; it does not include activity within the websites you browse.

Recipients, transfers, and retention

Apple and Google Play act under their own privacy terms. RevenueCat acts as a service provider for the Apple and Google Play purchase paths and may process subscription data on AWS infrastructure in the United States under its data-processing agreement and appropriate transfer safeguards.

Local data remains until you erase it or uninstall the app. Optional activation attributes remain until you disable analytics or request deletion, subject to the provider's operational deletion cycle. Purchase data is retained as needed to provide and restore entitlements, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations, and handle support. Deleting RevenueCat data does not cancel an Apple or Google Play subscription. Subscriptions must be cancelled in Apple Account or Google Play settings, depending on where they were purchased.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may withdraw analytics consent in Settings and request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or your local authority. For an analytics or subscription-data request, include the Purchase Support ID shown in BrowseKind Settings, but never send credentials or cookies.

Children, security, and changes

BrowseKind is not directed to children below the minimum age required by the social services they use. Minors must meet each service's age and parental-consent requirements.

BrowseKind uses the Apple or Android app sandbox and the platform's WebKit or WebView data stores. It includes no advertising SDK or cross-app tracking; RevenueCat handles subscriptions and subscription-screen interactions on both platforms. The separate iPhone activation milestones described above require consent. This policy may be updated when functionality or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected here.
